Today, we're spilling the beans on our exciting latest project that's as fresh as a just-poured pint! Grab your popcorn and let's dive into the endearing journey of Cwm Albion, deemed the UK’s ‘Best Worst Football Team’, brought to you by Tangerine Communications in partnership with none other than Specsavers. Here at Prism, we are super proud to have played a pivotal role in bringing the escapades of Cwm Albion to life through our lens’.

Initiative to Rewrite Cwm Albion's Football Legacy

Earlier this year, Specsavers began its nationwide search to find a grassroots football team in desperate need of a little help. The 'Best Worst Team' would receive a unique and exceptional chance to transform their luck through in-person coaching sessions from a renowned football legend, coupled with priceless experiences that money can't buy. The news even caught the eye of ITV, so when Tangerine offered us the opportunity, we couldn't resist the chance to capture their journey on film. Enter Cwm Albion - last year they played 21 games and lost every single one of them, conceding a whopping 200 goals in the process. It's a record that's rewriting the rulebook on how to play, or rather, not play, football.

Behind the Scenes: Prism Captures Cwm Albion's Extraordinary Kick-off with Specsavers

Picture this: it's a grey, cold and drizzly morning in Swansea and the crew at Prism find ourselves at the heart of the action. It’s a big production set up: 4 camera operators, a sound technician, directors, runners, DOP’s, editors, gaffers. Cwm Albion is not your typical team, and we were eager to document their misadventures with our cameras rolling. Despite the setbacks they’ve faced, the team remains full of characters who show unwavering loyalty match after match, with a strong family element within. The campaign will be brought to life through an episodic docu-style series, featuring the voiceover of the legendary Jill Scott, who we had the pleasure of working with for the recording. If you haven't checked it out yet, Episode 1 is a cracker. With 65,000 views within the first 24 hours of the first episode going live, it’s fair to say we can’t wait for you to see what’s still to ‘Cwm’! Stay tuned for Episode 2 dropping soon, featuring a surprise special guest appearance they’ll never forget.
